God of the Details

A couple of days ago I was pondering the practicalities of us getting through rush-hour to central London by 9:30am on Tuesday morning with guitar and all our luggage… and feeling a little anxious at the thought of arriving sweaty and slightly frazzled to my visa interview.  My Father knows even the thoughts of my heart, and He answered my prayer without it even being uttered from my lips – He arranged a time and place where we would meet with Keith & Alison, the couple we will be staying with in Hastings, and there we could pass on our luggage and it go ahead of us to Hastings.

That meeting was this evening…so today has been a day of laundry and packing, finishing up things here at Paul & Kath’s, a quick trip to the supermarket and then all of Kath’s family descending on the house for a meal, before our swift exit to drive to London.  The occasion was the Easter Vigil Mass at a Catholic Church in an area called East Molesey, and we had the privilege of standing with our friend Sheena, as she stepped out with bold faith and radical obedience to the Lord to be received into the Catholic Church.  It was Alyssa’s first experience of a Catholic Mass and she was rather startled by the 'attack from behind' sprinkling of water part!

It is now almost 3am and we are not long home – the car journeys were filled with songs of praise and worship (Christine has a phenomenal gift of always having a song in her mind), memorising scriptures (Alyssa shone as a great encourager in this) and sharing our ‘two minute introductions to the ministry of World Trumpet Mission’…we came back tired but joyful, and praying for the Lord to multiply our sleep, because we leave for the Cambridge city-wide Easter ‘Sonrise Service’ in little over 3 hours time!

It is with a deeper reality, love, hope and expectation than ever before that this Easter, along with multitudes throughout the earth – whether persecuted or free, known or unknown, near or far – I can proclaim to the heavens and the earth: HE IS RISEN!! And I hear the echo in my heart, from brothers and sisters worldwide: HE IS RISEN INDEED!  HALLELUJAH!

Glory, glory, glory to our RISEN Saviour!
And may you each have a blessed Easter.
Much love,
Clare
