Finishing Well

Today marks what I would call "the final countdown".  And I'd probably sing a little "doot doot doo" along with it.  In one week's time we will be in flight home to the USA, back to Orlando for some further missionary training.  I found in physical training and races, whenever the end of the course is in sight, there are 3 possible reactions.

1.  Sprint to the finish line
2.  Slow down in relief and exhaustion
3.  Get caught up in thoughts of what you're going on to next.

I hope that you will join us this week in prayer that we will finish well.  Today is a much appreciated rest day.  The Presence of the Lord is so sweet and refreshing to the weary soul. There is still a work ahead of us, and this is not the time to slow down or get distracted by thoughts of home (though it is good to know all that the Lord is going to require of us then as well.)  There is administrative work to be done, school work, and we have an Awakening Weekend to serve at this Friday and Saturday, and we must be ready to stand firm through the battles that these weekends bring.

There have been questions that the Lord has posed all along our journey.

Is He worthy?  Can we trust Him?  Do you know my Jesus?

and now He brings the familiar question that will drive any athlete to the finish- what more can you give?

As we pray to finish well, I pray that you will finish well also.  You are a gem to us.

Because He is worthy,
Christine
