"If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth." (Colossians 3:1-2)
Whilst the eyes of a few million people have been watching the events in London today - though being in England on this historic day definitely stirred some desire to watch the royal wedding - it was not our priority and our focus has had to be on things above. And still does have to be - especially as we are now camping in a field in a rural valley along with 36 or so 11-18 year olds.
There is plenty of potential for distractions and our eyes being on the things of the earth, so we would appreciate your prayers for this, particularly over the weekend.
It is exciting to be here. This morning we spent time in worship and prayer, preparing for the youth camp we are now at, and then headed to the church early afternoon to set up our tent, pray round the grounds and meet with the team. Even though most of us had not met each other before, it was wonderful to pray together and are believing God to knit us together as a team and unite us for His purposes for this weekend.
It has continued to be sunny today...black clouds have gathered at times and threatened...but our God is mighty to even push back the clouds and cause the sun to shine. I have to just let those of you who are not in the UK know, that since we have been here, I think it has only rained on one day... which is phenomenally unusual for April - it has been like summer and we have been delighting in it. I think the Lord is being especially gracious and favourable towards our young Floridian missionary!!
We love you and thank you for your prayers and support and comments and love.
Bless you!
Clare

ReplyDeleteIt was great to read your latest entries and good to hear that your journey down to Cornwall was so enjoyable! Good to read, too, that you were able to spend time yesterday meeting with God. Blessings to all of you at the youth camp - may our Almighty God lavish His love on you 3 willing missionaries and everyone there! I was reading 1 Peter 4 vs 7 - 11, and thought of you.
